Complete care for your pets

General Consultations

General consultations are the foundation of preventive medicine. At Nou Espai Veterinari we perform complete physical examinations to detect any health problem at its earliest stage, when treatment is most effective and least costly.

During the consultation, the vet evaluates weight and body condition, auscultates the heart and lungs, examines the oral cavity, ears and eyes, palpates the abdomen to detect anomalies, and reviews the condition of the skin, coat and joints.

We recommend annual preventive visits for healthy adult animals, and every 6 months for geriatric animals (dogs and cats over 7 years) or animals with chronic conditions. Early detection of diseases like renal insufficiency, diabetes or heart problems can make a huge difference to your animal's quality of life.

Includes

  • Complete physical examination
  • Weight measurement and body condition assessment
  • Dental and oral cavity review
  • Feeding and nutrition guidance
  • Personalised follow-up plan
  • Specialist referral if needed

Vaccination

Vaccines are the most effective way to protect your animal from potentially fatal infectious diseases. We adapt vaccination protocols to each animal, taking into account their age, lifestyle and current Balearic Islands regulations.

For dogs, the basic schedule includes the polyvalent vaccine (distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, leptospirosis) and rabies —required by law in Spain—. In Mallorca we especially recommend the leishmaniosis vaccine, transmitted by the sandfly which is endemic on the island from spring to autumn.

For domestic cats, trivalent vaccination (panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus) is essential even for indoor-only animals. If the cat has outdoor access, the feline leukaemia vaccine (FeLV) is added. For rabbits, we protect against myxomatosis and viral haemorrhagic disease (VHD and VHD2), both very prevalent in Mallorca.

Includes

  • Personalised vaccination schedule by species and age
  • Mandatory vaccines under Balearic and Spanish regulations
  • Rabies vaccine with official registration
  • Leishmaniosis vaccine for dogs (recommended in Mallorca)
  • Updated vaccination certificate
  • Revaccination reminders

Deworming

Mallorca's Mediterranean climate means parasites —both internal and external— are active almost year-round. An adequate deworming programme is essential to protect your animal's health and, for some parasites, the health of the whole family.

Internal deworming targets intestinal worms (roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms) and other internal parasites such as giardia. Puppies and kittens need deworming every 2 weeks until 3 months, then monthly until 6 months. Adults need treatment every 3 months, or monthly if they live with young children, immunocompromised people, or if the animal hunts.

External deworming covers fleas, ticks and mosquitoes (including the sandfly that transmits leishmaniosis). In Mallorca the risk is high from April to November, but we recommend year-round maintenance. Options include monthly spot-ons, quarterly oral tablets and long-lasting collars of up to 8 months.

Includes

  • Intestinal parasite diagnosis (coprology)
  • Internal treatment adapted to weight and lifestyle
  • External treatment against fleas, ticks and sandflies
  • Preventive calendar for Mallorca
  • Products safe for children and pregnant women (if applicable)
  • Advice to prevent home reinfestations
